Welcome to the general help thread! If you need help with anything regarding the forum, then you can ask about it here! You can also check out the official proboards Forum Help Guide here for more in depth explanations of things. Please go to the plugin help thread if you need any help with plugins.
Here are some very simple guides that may be helpful for new users...
Bumping threads
If you have a thread you made, but people haven't responded to it, and it's no longer showing up in the Last Updated section, you can bump it to make sure more people see it! Just respond to the thread saying bump! and your post will be moved up. Please only do this if your thread is no longer the last updated to prevent spam.
Using BBCode
BBcode is the markup language that the forum uses to format posts. So if you want to add an image to a post, or make text bold, you can use BBCode for that! It's a very simple language, and there is a guide on it here. If you want to add BBCode to your post, you can do so by clicking the BBCode tab at the bottom of the text editor. Then you can press the Preview tab to view your message normally again.
But you don't need to use BBCode when making posts if you don't want to. The little icons above the text editor will let you format your text and add images without typing it out yourself. If you want to do things like change the width of an image, then you do have to do that manually. The code for that would be like this!

Signatures also use BBcode, however the signature editor does not have those little icons, so you do have to type out your signature's formatting manually. Good luck!
...You can also use css with BBcode, however I think that's a bit advanced to add to a thread for newbies.
Replying to specific posts in a thread
If you want to reply to a specific post in a thread and notify the user as well, you can do so by clicking the Quote button on their post. You can reply to the whole thing, or remove parts that are unnecessary by clicking on the text in the quote. If you're just replying to the main post of a thread, quoting it isn't necessary.
If you want to respond to more than one post in a single post, hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and click each post you want to reply to. Then click the quote button on one of them, and yay you did it!
If you're on mobile, I guess you can do it by having two posts open, quoting each of them, then copying one of the quotes and pasting it on the post with the other one... I hope this makes sense.
Editing signatures
To edit your signature, go to your profile and click Edit Profile. Under the Personal tab will be a text box where you can add stuff to your signature, such as a quote, text about you, or a funny image. This will be underneath every post you make. You can preview your signature to make sure its to your liking, but it may look a bit different on actual posts. When you're finished with your signature, scroll down and click Save Account Settings!
The character limit for signatures is 500, so unfortunately you can't really do anything cool with them without getting yelled at by proboards. My signature is nearly at that 500 limit, so what I did was put images that are meant to be separate (like the stamps) together into one image. This will help you save character space if you want a lot of stuff on your sig.
Also, as I mentioned before, you must type out the BBCode for your signature manually!!
Changing the forum theme
If you're not a fan of the default forum theme, you can change it by, once again, going to your profile and clicking Edit Profile. Under the Settings tab will be a section titled Forum Theme with a drop down menu. Click that and choose which theme you'd like to use, save your settings, then refresh the page to see the new theme! Some of the themes may be disabled or deleted eventually though because they need to be worked on lol
I hope these little guides were helpful, please let me know if anything was unclear! I'll add onto if anyone thinks I missed anything important.
